Pasture Raised Animals
I love my animals and want the best for them. Raising them on pasture makes them happy and healthy. They also fertilize the pastures for me. Rotating pastures gives them resting periods so that they can use the nutrients from the fertilizers and grow thicker, stronger and provide more high quality food for the animals.
Leader follower System of Rotational Grazing
Rotational Grazing using the leader follower model is where you to rotate your animals through the paddocks so that they are not eating near the manure of animals that are affected by the same parasites. Different species of animals prefer different varieties of grasses so using smaller paddocks, allows them to use more of the pasture rather than just picking what they like best and skipping the rest. Now, we planted our pastures with a diverse seed mix that our mix of animals will enjoy and give them proper nutrition so they aren't missing out by being forced to eat certain grasses, its just like telling a kid that they need to eat their veggies and cant just have strawberries and ice cream all day. Rotating poultry through 3 days after the larger animals allows them to spread the manure and eat the fly larvae which prevents pest problems. The greatest benefit that comes with this method is that the other paddocks get a period of rest which allows them to grow in strong and thick. Short rotations keep them from being overgrazed so each year the pastures improve.
